Approve Schedules

Many Owners, Franchisees, and Multi-Unit Owners (MUOs) require that schedules be approved before they are published. Often, managers prepare a schedule and then submit it to someone else (the Owner, Franchisee, or MUO) for review and approval. The LiveIQ process to approve schedules makes this task more efficient than a manual approval process.

This process includes steps to identify who can edit schedules and who can approve them. Anyone who does not have permission to approve schedules cannot publish them. Instead, they can request approval from one or several people who have permission to approve and publish schedules. When a scheduler requests approval, LiveIQ notifies the schedule approvers for the restaurant. They can then review the schedule and can approve it, approve it with comments, or reject it. Whichever action the approver takes, the scheduler is notified and can then take further action if needed.

The approval process is turned off by default but you can use the Schedule Settings section of the Organization Parameters screen to turn on this feature. You can also choose to turn on a feature that prevents users from printing or sending schedules that they submitted for approval while those schedules are pending approval.

To approve schedules, users must have the Approve Schedules permission at both the organization and restaurant levels. For more information, see Organization-Level Permissions and Restaurant-Level Permissions.
